Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is a Fortune 500 financial services
organization helping nearly 2.9 million members achieve their financial goals.
Thrivent Financial, a not-for-profit organization, and its members provide
approximately $200 million annually for outreach programs and activities that
support congregations, schools, charitable organizations and needy individuals. |

Challenge: Thrivent wanted to
generate leads for their field sales force and find out more information about
their customers and prospects at the same time. They were looking for an option
that was new and different and using cutting edge technology. The process also
had to be fast and easy in execution and in delivering lead information to the
field.
Solution: Lexinet
suggested mailings incorporating Personalized URLs (P-urls). P-urls allow the
recipient to respond via a website that is personalized specifically for them.
It uses their name in the site address - for example, a responder might type
www.lexinetcorp.com\jan.lerner
to access their P-url. Once they are logged in,
they typically complete a short survey. This is an opportunity to find out some
valuable information about the recipient and be able to market to them more
successfully in the future. Most times an incentive is offered for completing
the survey - such as a coffee gift card. Thrivent designed the mailing pieces
and look of the web pages for the Personalized URLs and Lexinet did the rest.

Created personalized URLs for each recipient.
Developed back end database programming for the P-url web pages and for storing
and reporting responder information.
Sent email to the Field Representative immediately after customer or prospect
logged on to their personalized URL and completed the survey.
Reported all information gathered on the survey to the Field Representative and
to Corporate.
Sent personalized thank you note to the responder with their gift card on behalf
of the Field Representative. |
Results: The
response rates were very high - about triple the response rates they had been
receiving on other direct mailings. The program was so well received that they
are continuing to incorporate P-urls in mailings they do. The Thrivent field
sales force and Thrivent’s corporate marketing department are extremely
satisfied with the success of the program.
